The camera slowly zooms on his face.

Scene 4 – Ending Joke (1:40–2:00)

The student sighs.

Student:

“So… I came to school on the weekend…”

He picks up his bag.

Student:

“I should just go home and sleep.”

Suddenly —

The school bell rings again loudly.

The student looks shocked.

Student:

“Why is the bell ringing on the weekend?!”

Cut to black.

Wardrobe and costume planning

 Character: Ahmed

Ahmed‘s costume serves as the visual anger for the sleepy student perfectly capturing. The essence of a teenager caught between the demands of school and heavy pool of exhaustion. It’s a look that feels authentic to campus life low effort but inherently classic.

The costume breakdown

The outfit is designed to look like a uniform that has been lived in focusing on relaxed textures and a specific colour story that compliments his character

Navy varsity hoodie: The navy blue zip up is the most recognisable part of his look divide athletic stripes on the cuff and him provide a school sanctioned field while the oversized fit suggest it’s his go to uniform item the deep navy tone works well to hide the shadows of a long night of studying

Grey baggy trousers: The light grey chinos elevate the look from pyjamas to student by choosing a tailored fit over sweatpants. The costume suggests that Ahmed is at least trying to adhere to address code even if his energy levels aren’t quite there.

The silhouette :The combination of slightly slouchy Hoodie and the straight leg bands creates a top heavy silhouette . This emphasises a sense of being weighed down visually supporting the sleepy theme of film

Risk and safety measures

 1. Safe classroom environment:

. Make sure the school is empty and permission is taken from the school administration before filming

. Keep the floor clear of bags, cables and objects so the actor does not trip while moving quickly

character props

Props: school bag, loose paper, stationary
Background Props: ceiling fans, bookshelf, noticeboard
Interactive Props : door, smartphone
Set Props: wall decor, classroom furniture
Mistake I noticed :
in the opening scene and the classroom scenes the sunlight is very harsh and bright and in the hallway scenes when the actor is looking out to window towards the end the lightening shifts significantly looking more muted or different time of day

Location scouting

For the short film the sleepy student careful location selection is crucial to create the right mood of suspense comedy and isolation. Their primary location will be an empty classroom used for season one and seen four where Ahmed is shown sleeping , cramming ,and hurriedly packing his bag this classroom should have rose of desks and chairs with enough space for the camera to capture both white shots of the room and close-ups of Ahmed face notebook and textbook soft warm lightning is essential to convey the early hours either from Through Windows or control LED lightning to maintain consistency across the classroom and scene Seem to requires a empty quite hallway or corridor within the same building or school which can accommodate a tracking shot following Ahmed as he notices the whiteboard and handwritten school closed on Saturday and Sunday sign the corridor should be uncluttered to emphasise Ahmed restoration and his low realisation of the day with enough wall space for placing unnoticed board or temporary sign scenery is a set on a balcony or roof rooftop area overlooking an open country Empty school ground which should be feel deserted to create a sense of suspense and confusion, the balcony must allow both wide establishing shorts, showing the empty courtyard and close-ups capturing Ahmed’s reaction and expressions throughout all location. Silence is most important to make sound effects such as school or low frequency third more in impactful props like Ahmed’s backpack textbook notebook, pens and phone will be essential for continuity and the layout of this space should allow smooth camera movements including tracking zooms and over the shoulder shots finally ensuring that scene one and four share the same classroom or visually similar space will help maintain continuity with while lightning and camera angles remain constant to support the comedic yet suspenseful tone of the fin. The fin will have a cohesive visual style that highlights Ahmed’s confusion panic and ultimate comedy realisation that’s it’s a Saturday.
